Fall 2008

Construction on the Ida Grove
new Truck Scale

On Monday October 13, 2008, Farm Service Cooperative will begin the process of installing a new truck scale at the Ida Grove Feed Mill. This scale will be located underneath the bulk load out bins. Due to the location, Ida Grove will not be able to load out any bulk products at this production facility. The new scale will allow Farm Service Cooperative to load multiple batches of feed for 1 or more customers without having to move the truck outside to scale each time a weight is needed. This will help improve the efficiency by saving time for the employees and drivers at the Ida Grove location.

We hope to have the new scale in operation by November 1st of 2008. Bulk feed orders will be completed at the Denison or Harlan location while the scale is being constructed.  We appreciate your patience with this project and look forward to many years of service from the Ida Grove Feed Mill location.

AGRONOMY TEST PLOTS A SUCCESS
The test plots that were held at various locations were a success again this year. Even though the weather at a couple of plots was a factor, it didn’t seem to bother the turnout. Record numbers of attendees were recorded. The harvest has not started yet, but we will be reporting those yields soon.
