FSC launches the
Next Generation of the Cenex® Brand in Harlan
-

Tabbed the “Generation Image Renewal,” FSC and Cenex

have launched the next generation of its brand in Harlan.  The upgrades create a modern appealing brand for our consumers and a site with a new look on the canopy, signs,  pumps, new lighting and digital signage.  These changes establish a fresh, consistent image at every Cenex site and address the demands of today’s consumers.   The Cenex brand has helped Farm Service Cooperative portray a positive impression of our sites and commitment to the fuel needs of our members and customers. In addition to funding the majority of the costs associated with the upgrade, Cenex will support its marketers through the entire re-identification process.

FSC Winter Agronomy Grower Meetings…
FSC held informational grower meetings throughout the winter months.  These meetings are designed to update customers on today’s innovative technology and future pipeline.  This year’s meetings included Shannon Hauf (Monsanto).  Shannon discussed the Monsanto seed traits and outlined future events growers will be utilizing.  Our second speaker was Dick Goeff. Dick discussed soil fertility and management practices to maximize yields.  These three meetings received excellent attendance.

FSC ANNUAL MEETING

On Thursday, January 24, FSC held it’s Annual Meeting at the Therkildsen Center in Harlan.
President Duane Alff addressed the membership, reviewing the activities of the Board of Directors during the last fiscal year.  General Manager Gary Jahn reviewed FSC’s Balance Sheet and Operating Statement as of August 31, 2007, followed by his General Manager’s Report.  For a copy of FSC’s annual report, please stop by any FSC location or call the General Office at 800-452-4372 and one will be mailed to you.
Blair Baughman of Denison and Mark Ragaller of Vail were running for Director in District I.  By a vote of the membership, Mark was declared the winner.  President Alff thanked Blair for his dedication and service to the FSC Board since 1993.
Ed Andersen was running unopposed in District IV so was declared the winner for Director in District IV.
Also, Rich Goshorn, Jeff Schaben, and Chuck Schumacher will be serving on the District III Nominating Committee for next year’s annual meeting.  Don Hering, Pete Hobson, and Phil Killinger will serve on the District V Nominating Committee.

FSC Upgrades Fuel Fleet

In a response growing demand and increased farm tank size FSC has purchased a new 4,500 gallon refine fuel truck.  The new truck replaces the 1997 2,800 gallon refine fuel truck driven by Dan Jensen.  The addition of this truck will allow Dan to provide better customer service by loading fuel straight off of the fuel pipeline, reduce the number of reloads and cut down on driving miles.
